Although Nøva and Hikari Sunnvei are half-sisters through their father, their mothers came from entirely different worlds. Nøva’s mother was an ordinary Norwegian woman, while Hikari’s mother came from an illustrious family. When Harald returned from Asia, he said nothing about his remarriage. His sudden arrival in Norway with young Hikari and her mother threw the family into turmoil. As the heiress to a powerful Asian zaibatsu, Hikari’s mother once attempted to harm Nøva, only to be stopped in time by Hikari and Harald. Even so, she continued to make Nøva’s life as difficult as possible. Through those years, Hikari remained Nøva’s source of comfort, and the sisters formed a profound bond. Their time together was brief: Hikari was forced to return to Asia, and Nøva’s life during her absence became a mystery.
